Southern Highlights Tour 9 Days

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City
Arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Pick up and transfer to a hotel. An afternoon tour round Ho Chi Minh City, formerly called Saigon, features the History Museum, the Binh Tay Market in Chinatown, Thien Hau Temple and a lacquer workshop.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Xeo Quit - Chau Doc (B)
Leave Saigon for Chau Doc (250km) via Xeo Quit. Take a sampan cruise through a vast swamp under the canopy of a dense cajeput forest. Vivid farming activities and the riverside life of the Mekong Delta can be seen en route. In the evening, take a pedicab ride to Lady Temple, full of exciting legends.

Day 3: Chau Doc - Can Tho (B)

Enjoy a morning cruise on the Mekong River to get to know the feeding of catfish in their natural river habitat at floating houses. Visit Chau Giang Hamlet, home to colored brocade woven by Cham ethnic. Leave Chau Doc for Can Tho (120km) with a stop-over at Bang Lang Stork Sanctuary to view thousands of storks returning home at sunset.

Day 4: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Enjoy an early morning boat ride on the Mekong River to the bustling Cai Rang & Phong Dien floating markets thronged with buyers and sellers moving around in boats laden with farm products. Taste seasonal fruit at a verdant orchard. Return to Ho Chi Minh City (170km).

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City – Da Lat (B)
Transfer to Da Lat (310km) past vast rubber plantations, extinct volcanic cones and endless pine forests. Stop over in Bao Loc, home to tea and worm silk. Explore Dambri Falls, one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Vietnam, and visit a tea-processing plant for a tea break.

Day 6: Da Lat – Phan Rang – Phan Thiet (B)
Da Lat, named by Dr. A. Yersin as he discovered the Langbian Plateau in 1893, was established as a hill station with its European-styled villas and pine forests. A morning sightseeing tour is highlighted with the Da Lat Market, Lovers’ Lane, Truc Lam Pagoda and a flower farm. Travel down to Phan Thiet (260km) across the scenic Ngoan Muc Pass in a series of switchbacks with a stop-over at the 13th-century Po Klong Garai Towers in Phan Rang.

Day 7: Mui Ne, Phan Thiet (B)
Hidden among coconut trees, a chain of seaside resorts attracts every taste and all ages. Spend an afternoon relaxing at a resort, or roaming over colored sand dunes at Hon Rom. The coast offers spectacular views at sunset along the Mui Ne beach drive. Golfing at an 18-hole course is optional.

Overnight in Phan Thiet.
Day 8: Phan Thiet – Ho Chi Minh City (B)
In the morning, relax by the pool side or lounge on the sandy beach. Transfer to Ho Chi Minh City (200km) with a visit to a dragon fruit farm en route.

Day 9: Departure from Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Spend last minutes for downtown shopping (embroideries, silk, lacquer ware,...) or at leisure before check-out. Transfer to the airport for departure.
